"When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him, you will see yourself. As you treat him, you will treat yourself. As you think of him, you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself." -ACIM

"The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion." -Thomas Paine

"The bravest are the tenderest. The loving are the most daring." -Henry Wadsworth Longsfellow

"It does not do to be frightened of things which you know nothing... You are like children. Afraid of the dark." -Julian Morrow, in The Secret History, by Donna Tartt

When you understand that what most people really, really want is simply to feel good about themselves, and when you realize that with just a few well-chosen words you can help virtually anyone on the planet instantly achieve this, you begin to realize just how simple life is, how powerful you are, and that love is the key. -Mike Dooley, TUT The Universe

"We live in an extremely repressive era, and we fail to realize how repressive it is..." -Sean Parker

"In politics nothing happens by accident; if it happens, you can be sure we planned it that way." - Franklin Roosevelt

"The perfect way is only difficult for those who pick and choose. Do not like, do not dislike; all will then be clear. Make a hairbreadth difference and heaven and earth are set apart; if you want the truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between "for" and "against" is the mind's worst disease." -Bruce Lee (1940 - 1973), Tao of Jeet Kune Do

"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable it is nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than others." -Martha Graham

"There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party...and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat. Republicans are a bit stupider, more rigid, more doctrinaire in their laissez-faire capitalism than the Democrats, who are cuter, prettier, a bit more corrupt—until recently... and more willing than the Republicans to make small adjustments when the poor, the black/brown, the anti-imperialists get out of hand. But, essentially, there is no difference between the two parties." -Gore Vidal

"Never take anyone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart, because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones..."

"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle..."

The Egg - by Andy Weir
You were on your way home when you died.

It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.

And that's when you met me.

"What… what happened?" You asked. "Where am I?"

"You died," I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.

"There was a… a truck and it was skidding…"

"Yup," I said.

"I… I died?"

"Yup. But don't feel bad about it. Everyone dies," I said.

You looked around. There was
