In this session, archivists from the City of Boston Archives and the University of Mary Washington will showcase how they are achieving more for their institutions using software to automate common digital preservation tasks such as ingesting content in bulk, harvesting websites, making content and metadata discoverable online, maintaining files in current formats, synchronizing metadata with catalogs and flexibly rearranging archive hierarchy overtime.

In particular, the session will explore how automation can lead to greater transparency by applying defined rules and policies.

Preservica CTO Jon Tilbury will also showcase some of the very latest innovations in digital preservation that are enabling archivists to put more focus on raising the profile of their archive and less on managing tools and technologies.
